Switzerland-based Wingtra, developer and manufacturer of the WingtraOne VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) fixed-wing drone, has signed a distribution agreement with Geodirect, the leading supplier of Geo-ICT solutions. As part of Nexterdays Solutions, Geodirect is active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands Antilles and Suriname.
“Our ambition is to provide the best and most efficient solutions to optimize our customers’ processes. The ever-changing and stricter regulations, necessary cost reductions and sustainability factors, require innovative answers. With the WingtraOne VTOL drone, Wingtra has developed the absolute benchmark in the field of 3D drone mapping, with which our customers can actually make a difference. We are delighted to add the WingtraOne to our solutions portfolio and are proud to be part of Wingtra’s continued growth with this partnership,” said Walter van Dolen, Managing Director of Geodirect.
“Geodirect is known in the geo-sector for the knowledge and expertise they have in areas such as GNSS positioning, 3D scanning, mobile GIS applications and drone mapping solutions. Our shared vision, obsessive focus on customer satisfaction and unique market approach make Geodirect the right party for us to represent Wingtra as a distributor,” said Wingtra Sales Manager, Terence Thiel.
“During the many conversations and technical training sessions in preparation for this collaboration, the Geodirect team showed that they understand the importance and cost savings of drone mapping like no other, have enormous reach for the product and have the technical experience in the field to to be a great partner. I am especially looking forward to seeing many ‘Orange’ Wingtra-Ones flying around in the Netherlands and to further expanding our partnership.”
Thanks to its vertical take-off and landing capabilities, the WingtraOne can take off and land like a quadcopter and, once the desired altitude is reached, fly like a fixed-wing UAV. This new technology eliminates the risk of damage and accidents during landing, allows the drone to carry heavier and therefore better sensors (such as the 42MP Sony RX1R II) and cover very large areas.
The post-process kinematics (PPK) upgrade takes the WingtraOne to a new level of accuracy. Thanks to the state-of-the-art PPK module and the highest quality sensors, the WingtraOne achieves a (fully substantiated) accuracy of 1 cm, without the need to use ground control points.
